Alright, guys, I am back and here to talk to you about the next subject to increase your knowledge of the amazing benefits that Cannabis brings.
Today we are talking microdosing.
What is Microdosing
Microdosing is taking small amounts of cannabis in order to reap the medical benefits of THC while avoiding its psychoactive effects. The goal is to use the dose that gives the most minimal noticeable effect.
Microdosing is the ideal way to introduce someone new to cannabis and its benefits. It is also great for day time use since it allows relief of any symptoms you may experience without interfering with your day to day life.
Microdosing gives you the benefits without the buzz.
A little background info on our amazing bodies. Every human is home to an endocannabinoid system. This system is a cannabis chemical producing factory that functions as a homeostatic regulator, meaning it maintains a consistent and healthy internal environment, both physically and mentally.
This system complements the cannabinoids from the plant which is what enables cannabis to provide such an amazing source of relief. Our bodies were literally made for this plant! I could go on and on, there is a TON of science behind it all. But to understand, cannabis as a medicine understanding the endocannabinoid system is a good start!
How to Microdose
If you are anything like me, you love a good personal journey. Microdosing is definitely very personal. Everyone is different, so the correct dose varies from person to person. The correct dose for you could be, and most likely is, different than your friend, sister, boyfriend, etc. The key is to keep experimenting until you find the dose that compliments you best.
There are various ways to microdose. If you chose to smoke/vape, it is recommended to take one puff, wait five minutes to see if you feel anything, and then take another one if necessary. Tinctures and edibles are also a great way because they allow you to more accurately control and be aware of the exact dosage. It will normally say right on the package how much THC this product contains. When it comes to edibles, take caution and ensure the edible is from a licensed facility.
You want to start anywhere between 1-3 milligrams and slightly increase from there. Once you find a dose where you feel a little something, stay there for a few days and then start gradually increasing as needed. In the beginning, you are not trying to get total relief. You just want to follow something. Once you feel something, then increase based on your comfort level and amount of relief needed.
Benefits of Microdosing
I could go on and on with a list of conditions that microdosing would be beneficial for. With more availability to products, it is becoming more popular to use microdosing to address depression, stress, anxiety, pain, and to help improve focus and promote sleep. Just to name a few. Our bodies were made to take in these cannabinoids, and doing so in small amounts can truly have some amazing benefits.
However, microdosing is not for everyone. Some conditions call for a much more potent dose of THC.
Please remember, this plant is considered a medicine for a reason. As I mentioned above, the dosage is dependent on each person. Continue to do your research. Pay attention to articles that talk about the best cannabis practices to relieve your specific symptoms. Give it a try! 😊
