One of my favorite things to do is watch movies! Over the last few months, well actually all year, I haven’t had too much time to really invest in watching many movies. Luckily, Netflix makes it super easy and they have some great Netflix Original releases throughout the year. They aren’t long, easy to watch and actually really good. It’s a great way to click off the brain for a little bit. Here are some of my favorites Netflix movies to watch that I’ve added to my watchlist over the summer months.
1. Murder Mystery
One of my all-time favorite movies starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler is ‘Just Go With It’. When I saw that they were starring in another movie together, I watched it the first night it came out! Adam Sandler, a cop, and his wife, Jennifer Aniston, go on a European vacation to re-spark their marriage. A few events lead them to being framed for a murder of a billionaire and they have to prove their innocence and not get killed in the process. Funny, kinda-cheesy but fun to watch!
2. The Perfect Date
What’s better than a high school themed rom-com to turn off your brain?! Noah, a Ivy-league bound student, wants to raise money for college and he comes up with a way to do it. He creates an app where he sells himself as a “plus-one date” for special occasions. It all works out until he falls in love.
Love these 3 women as actresses so it was a definite “must-watch” for me! These 3 women and friends are feeling neglected by their 30-something year old sons after they forget them on Mother’s Day. The moms head to NYC to surprise their sons and spend some quality time with them but they have their own lives. The women try to define who they are “after” motherhood, their friendships and who they want to be.
4. Falling Inn Love
I love literally any rom-com & this one is no different! Starring Christina Milian as Gabriela, she finds herself after a bad breakup wanting to escape her everyday hustle. She enters a contest to “Win an Inn” that happens to be located halfway around the world in New Zealand. She wins but little did she know that it was a total fixer-upper and needed a ton of work and money. Gabriela finds a contractor to help with the renovations &…..well I’m sure you can guess what happens next?!
5. Secret Obsession
I hate scary movies but this movie I could actually bare to watch by myself…in the middle of the day. Jennifer wakes up from an attack but doesn’t remember anything. She wakes up to a husband she doesn’t remember and goes back to a life she doesn’t remember. Soon she starts to realize this isn’t her life and that she is still in danger. Scary but since the scenes are mainly set during daytime hours, I think that is why it was bearable to watch.
