Mornings are my favorite time of day. Yes, I am one of those people who love the mornings. However I am not, by any means, a super cheerful person upon waking. Like most people, I need that cup of coffee in the morning in order to wake up and really get my mornings going.
I’ve done a lot of research over the past couple of years in regards to hormones and one constant is that coffee, first thing in the AM, is not great for you. But no matter how many times I read it or hear it, I’m just not yet ready to quit that morning cup. However coffee does offer up some health benefits as well…as long as we aren’t over doing it.
Having a few healthy ingredients to add to your coffee, is a great way to justify that much needed caffeine boost in the morning.
These 6 all-natural ingredients will not only add flavor to your coffee, but it will add just enough of a health benefit to make that cup of coffee more than worth it. From helping to protect your heart, enhancing brain function and boosting your energy and mood, these are the healthy ingredients to add to your coffee each morning.

2. CBD Oil
The “it” product in the wellness world currently and one of the healthy ingredients to add to your coffee. CBD oil could be a great way to start your day with a calming yet energized feeling. Allison recently talked all about what exactly CBD oil is as well as the benefits. Some of the health benefits of CBD oil include decreasing anxiety, minimizing inflammation and relieving pain. There is not a ton of research on how coffee and CBD oil come together. However it is a trending combination that people seem to love. The feeling is described as calm energy or the energy that you normally get from coffee without the jitters.
3. Collagen Peptides
Another wellness “it” product, but for good reason. Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies. It is the building block for healthy skin, hair, nails, bones, muscles and joints. And while our bodies to produce collagen on a regular basis the production does, of course, slow down with age. Adding a bit of collagen peptides to your morning cup of coffee can help to keep your skin glowing, reduce inflammation and support joint health. Sounds worth it to me!
4. Grass-Fed Butter
Adding butter to your coffee, otherwise known as Bulletproof Coffee, sounds a bit strange and not at all healthy. However this combination, surprisingly, offers up some major health benefits that make giving it a try worth while. These benefits include, helping to balance gut health, improve brain function, keeps you fuller longer, as well as provide a more sustained energy.
Blend approximately 2 Tbsp of grass-fed butter to your coffee of preference for a creamy cup full of health benefits!
