It’s no secret that weddings are expensive. Of course it’s totally up to the couple just how expensive they want their wedding to be, but according to The Knot, the average wedding in 2017 cost $33,391. Expensive.
That same study concluded that the most expensive piece to the wedding, or the piece that couples spent the most money on was their venue. However the rest of the pieces add up rather quickly. And if you’ve ever been part of the wedding planning process, you know that there are a lot of pieces!
With Allison’s recent elopement, we were talking one night about what we were glad we spent the money on for our weddings. We had very different weddings, but when it was all said and done, we both recognized one thing we were so happy we “splurged” on.
That conversation got us thinking and since wedding season is pretty much here, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get other women involved here on The Middle Edit. So we posed the question on our Instagram stories….”What is the one thing you are glad you spent the money on for your wedding?”.
When we first posed the question we weren’t sure if it would be interesting enough to post. We assumed the majority of the answers would just be photographer. However we were pleasantly surprised by the responses and thought they gave great insight into what is really worth the money when it comes to your wedding day.
